Xperia Mini and Xperia Mini pro from Sony Ericsson set High Definition video on Facebook

These Android based teeny tiny smart widgets are updated editions of last year's X10 and X10 mini pro. Lest you forget Sony makes TVs, both wee widgets attributes a 3-inch 'Reality Display' with the Mobile Bravia Engine. That's the same technology found in the awesome Xperia Arc - it's supposed to reduce image noise while improving color, sharpness and contrast.  The ickle widgets offer high-definition 720p video recording, and Sony Ericsson thinks the Xperia mini is the world's smallest Android  widget capable of such a video graphic feat.

We anticipate this record to last all of two days. The mini pro is a tad chunkier due to its slide-out Qwerty keypad.  All that HD and display-processing goodness is possible due to a 1GHz Snapdragon processing. That's not quite as snappy as this this year's high-end widgets, such as the HTC Sensation but it's definitely no slouch. They'll both have the latest 2.3 Gingerbread edition of Android.

There's a  an innate 5-mega pixel snapper on board, offering a wide array of imaging niceties such as face and smile recognition, LED flash, image stabilization and touch focus, plus a front-facing VGA snapper.  Sony has capitalized on the fact that, by law, everyone is now on Facebook, introducing Facebook Inside. What does this signify? Simply, is now deeply integrated into many of the Xperia's functions: the music player, the image gallery, the phone book and the calendar.

Our heads are already spinning at the huge prospect of how easy it will now be to send deeply embarrassing videos accompanied by cheesy music to all our Facebook pals every Saturday at 3.30am. Mercifully, LinkedIn isn't an option.  Colors! We nearly forgot the colors. It's pretty important to note that a wide array of shades will be available probable dependent on which network you opt, how much you pay, and whether you're a boy or a girl  including black, white, pink, dark pink, turquoise and blue. Availability probably sometime this autumn.
